One month after 2018 World’s Strongest Man (WSM) champion Hafthor Björnsson defeated 2017 WSM champion Eddie Hall in their boxing match; Hall finally paid one of his debts from losing the fight by getting a tattoo dedicated to Björnsson. Hall and Björnsson wagered the loser of their bout would get a tattoo of the other’s name with the WSM moniker. Hall’s new tattoo reads:
World’s Strongest Man Hafthor Julius Bjornsson
The exact date that Hall got the tattoo isn’t clear, but he posted the video of it being finished on his YouTube channel on Apr. 20, 2022. The tattoo was applied to the inner side of Hall’s left foot. The 51-second video with a shot of Hall’s new tattoo can be seen below:
Hall shared the video in an Instagram post as well. It has already received nearly 600,000 views at the time of this article’s publication. He addressed the other agreements/bets/wagers he made regarding the fight, including donating $200,000 to a charity of Björnsson’s choice and paying a $10,000 personal bet to Larry Wheels.
Being a man of my word. Monies is imminent to charities and Larry! Onto the next chapter in my life.
Björnsson also agreed to donate the same amount of money as Hall. Björnsson has not yet announced which charity the money will go to. He previously said he would wait until both fighters received their purses before making that decision. At this article’s publication, Björnsson has not shared or posted a response or acknowledgment of Hall’s tattoo. Hall stated in the video that now that he has the tattoo, he hopes a rematch will occur.
This means that down the line the rematch, if it’s there, will happen. I’m a man of my word, and I’ve done everything that I said I was going to do.
Björnsson defeated Hall by unanimous decision in their boxing match on Mar. 19, 2022, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Björnsson stated in an interview after the first fight that he was willing to give Hall a rematch, but Hall had to complete the tattoo wager first. Now that Hall has fulfilled that commitment, fans may get to see Björnsson vs. Hall 2 should the promoters make the arrangements to put it on. BarBend has reached out to promoter Don Idrees about the possibility of that match and will update this article if/when he responds.
